Installation and security notes
The macOS installer is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. Authenticode signing has not been verified for the Windows installer, so SmartScreen may appear. Every installer is built from this repository by GitHub Actions.
macOS
- Open the downloaded DMG and drag GeoChat into your Applications folder.
- Double-click GeoChat in Applications to launch it normally; macOS verifies its Developer ID signature and Apple notarization ticket.
- If macOS still reports that the app is damaged or the developer cannot be verified, do not bypass the check. Download it again from this site or GitHub Releases, verify SHA-256, or open an issue.
Windows
- Run the installer. If a blue “Windows protected your PC” dialog appears, click More info.
- Click the Run anyway button that appears.
- Follow the installer through to the end.
Build from source
You will need Bun 1.3.11, a stable Rust toolchain, and the Tauri build dependencies for your platform. This is currently the route for Linux.
